Makes a good story--motto is don't be too quick to give up on a plant-they can always surprise you!
Love the color.
Congratulations - those are really stunning! I'm glad they kicked in for you.
Beautiful dark purple!
6 months later the new growth has given me 3 spikes, 3, 4 and 5 flowers. the one with 4 flowers has a weird conjoined triple flower.
about a month ago i gently pulled away the papery sheaths around the base of this bulb, and pulled back the moss a bit, and dabbed some keiki paste. it worked! finally, a new growth from the back of the plant where it was just old bare bulbs. i might dab another bulb with some more paste...
Purple on deep violet. Beautiful!
ok, the little new growth did not get much larger, but is putting out a stem of flowers... looks to be 2 or 3 buds maybe. weird.
I have one of these but is looks to be a couple years away from blooming. It was said to be Blooming Size when sold, but the seller inflated its maturity. I did state that in transaction feedback.
