I got it right with my V Pachara Delight but being the disorganised person I am, I did not take notes of which setting I used and would be hard pressed to replicate it, I would just have to go through the whole rigmarole of settings and hope for the best.
Darn! It seems like a serious design flaw thatI would like to take Nikon to task for. If no one else has written about this yet, maybe you and I need to collaborate, Yew.

Very nice job on the first and third photos. Quite a lovely chid .... twould be one I'd consider owning.

I share your amazement that a BBS had this. None of the ones in my area every have anything except the generic phals and the very occasional den.

That's a beauty Maura. I used to have one similar. I can imagine how good it must smell. What a great find!

I have an identical looking plant and after some discussions on the forum it was named Zygolum Louisendorf. I guess it all comes to setting the right white ballance

The zygo/galeo that I researched awhile back Led me through Louisendorfs - I think the nursery used Rhein Moonlight or something like that for their names. This is such a quality plant that I would bet its not really a noid - the wholesaler probably knew exactly what they were.

Thank you! I really think this is a pretty great quality plant for a generic, mass-produced zygo.

I don't think it's only Nikons that have this problem - most digital cameras have problems with the violet end of the spectrum. To overcome this problem I've been advised to custom-set the WB by taking a picture of of a white card or 18% grey card under the same lighting conditions as for our intended subject and using this picture as the basis for custom-setting the WB. Have not tried this method yet, so can't vouch for its effectiveness.
