    Cool Epidendrum ciliare var oerstedii

I had to look this one up. It was my understanding Ciliare was to have a fringed side lobe, but according to my orchidwiz these are a variety. I was upset with the seller as they showed the fringed sidelobe plant when there weren't actually selling those. Bummer, but still pretty.

Beautiful flowers with or without the fringe. These are fragrant too, I believe? Very nice!

the flower seems to resemble epi nocturnum, but the plant not so much. your plant looks nice and green. i've seen people growing them in so much light here that the whole plant turns a yellow/red shade with sunburn, but they still flower.

I understand your disappointment, Connie. Mine is more fringed than yours but still not nearly as fringed as the specimens normally seen photoed. I, too, wanted the very strongly fringed variety.

I agree, I have both. It's funny how much they are alike too...just not the plant itself.
