Cool Encyclia Phoenicea 'Brownie' x 'Pablo'

This is a division I bought last year. It took a couple months for the spike to grow and for the buds to develop and open. I was beginning to think the buds weren't going to open. It may not have a huge flower count, but they are beautiful. I like how dark the petals are in contrast to the bright pink in the lip/column area.

Beautiful!! And the ones I've seen are very strongly scented of chocolate -- enough to make me hungry!

I will have to check tomorrow for scent. I am guessing like the above comment, it should have a scent similar to chocolate. And I like that it is so unusual as well. I don't recall ever seeing this dark of an encyclia flower. And i'm an encyclia nut these days. It's those long long flower spikes I think...lol.
