    Default Trichosma nutans

    Hi,

this species was originally described as Eria nutans and had numerous names over the years, but I'm gonna go with Trichosma. It's found in Malaysia and neighboring countries, but not the Philippines....yet.
It blooms only for a day with no fragrance i could detect.

    Cheers!

Wow, only one day and no fragrance - seems like it is taking a gamble on getting polinated Thanks for sharing it Ron. I've never seen or heard of this orchid before though I have see 'nutans' in other orchid names. Is this orchid one that was re-classified from another 'type'?

    cheers,
    BD

Yes, most people would probably still call it Eria, which doesn't fit in our understanding of this genus. "Nutans" means nodding, describing the flowering habit.
