    Default Trichocentrum haematoachila hybrid?

    Hi,

a good friend of mine gave me a plant some months ago and I am happy with the outcome. For those who know me, i am a species nut, but you know...
Upon research i could only pin it down to a Trich.haematoachila hybrid, so if anybody has a complete name for it, would be greatly appreciated.
Since the spike is quite long and gave me a heck of a time photographing it, i decided to take a selfie, lol.

    Cheers!

Hahaha... great selfie, Ron! Maybe a new avatar photo? Wish I could help with the name. What a beautiful and unique bloom. I love that huge, showy spike.

    cheers,

My Trichocentrum Kuquat (Trt. slendidum x Trt. haematochilum) looks similar although the colors may not be quite right.

i googled around and only found 2 entries of this hybrid, rather strange coz i know it's a common Trichocentrum.

i'm just beginning to look into mules, but is this possibly related to trich josephine? it seems the right colors. maybe a hybrid with it in its parentage? josphine is a hybrid with many selected varieties.

definitely has luridum and lanceanum in its lineage....to tell you which was cross it is i cannot...lolol...i have splendidum, lanceanum and luridum and finally i have haematochilum in flask now..................i have seen an awarded haematochilum that resembles that almost perfectly except the callous in the colomn is shaped differently...who knows could be straight haematochilum....each clone in a grex could vary considerably
