    Default Miltassia 'Shelob Tolkein'

I am a great Tolkein fan so receiving a bare root division from Wisconsin from a friend shortly after Thanksgiving last year was very special since The Hobbit was coming to the theaters in December.

It was in pretty rough shape when it arrived with severely dehydrated p-bulbs, but with a little tlc it is happy and healthy.

Love it! How do you grow your Shelob? I have one, I don't think its large enough to bloom yet (a back division given to me), but I'm all for tips about what makes them happy!

mine does well in a south facing window with sun in winter through shadecloth, and a smaller one outdoors in bright dappled shade with cattleya lighting. did well over the winter, with midnight lows around 40f for a few nights. pretty tough plant.

Carolla, I grow it in a West facing windowsill, but I'm on the coast, facing a forest, so it is rarely 70 in summer. However, all i can say is i grow it with my Oncidiums and Phals. Mine also was a division. It's in a small pot, in Orchiata
