    Default Cymbidium in bloom

Here is a NOID cym. that I've waited for 2 years now to bloom. Last year, the frost got to 2 fresh spikes and completely destroyed them. This year, I moved them under an awning and was rewarded with not 1, but 2 spikes-one now developing.

    Well Done! And Good Growing!

As much as I try not to get sucked in by these "weeds", everytime I see em flowering I think.. how Beautiful!!!

In fact my Cymbidium collection is steadily growing and surprisingly, they don't grow like weeds for me.. in fact, they are rather difficult.. hmmph..

    cheers
    tim

btw, how much sunlight do u give these?

    Bench,

From Spring through fall, it got sunlight from about 9am to 2 or 3pm. Full sun most of that period. It put out about 8 new growths this growth cycle, so I must have been doing something right!

Hopefully I'll have many, many more spikes next year.

Really nice, an early bloomer too. How big are the flowers - in other words is it a mini or a standard cymb?

I think the size on the screen in the bottom picture is just about life-sized. If I had to guess(at work now), I'd say it was 3-3.5" across from the points of the 2 bottom sepals.
