Thanks. Eric. It is a big plant. Spikes are almost twice as long as my other spathoglottis. Leaves are much larger too. I have a pure yellow spath but it is one of the smaller kinds and is taking long to get established.

Thank you, Zain. I like the contrasting colors of the petals and sepals.

And I am really so thankful to my kind aunt. You know, Zain, she had to exert some effort pulling out the bulb and separating it from the rest. And we were doing it at 1:00 PM and you know how hot it is at that time. Aside from this, she also gave me some native Philippine phalaenopsis which I suspect is a Phal. amabilis.

That's a pity, Pavel. Over here I cannot seem to give them enough sun. There is hardly a spot in my garden that is sunny enough for these guys. I am amazed by how much tropical sun they can stand. Right up there with the Papilionanthe, Arachnis, and semi-terete Vanda.

I also have a yellow one, Ed. I bought a sickly looking plant about a year ago, and months later, it looked even worse. It's just lately than it began growing new and healthy leaves. These pure bright yellow ones are relatively smaller plants. Leaves are more sparse too.
