    Default Phreatia vanoverberghii

The genus Phreatia has approximately 150 species throughout Asia, Australia, and the Pacific islands. The Philippines has 14 of these and 10 are endemic, including P. vanoverberghii.

The plant is found only in the mountains of central and northern Luzon. The An epiphyte and upright sympodial, the flowers are at most 2-2.5 mm across.

It was named after Fr. Vanoverbergh, a Belgian priest who spent many years amongst indigenous tribes.

I failed to see the spike of this plant sooner. The blooms start drying out from the tip, as you can see here.

Lovely. I really so enjoy all the photos people post. And the graceful way the spike turns, just charming. You do a great job, Nelson!
