    Default Coryanthes ..... picturata?

Here is the first blooming of this Coryanthes ...? It was sold to me as a picturata but after looking at some online it does not look like them so I am not sure which one it is. I have just emailed the seller to see if he knows. it is beautiful nonetheless so I am happy. It smells divine - like honey and a sweet perfume. The flower is slightly deformed maybe because I didn't give it enough water and food over the last couple of months. What I thought was another growth turned out to be a spike and it was only then then that I began watering and feeding after the winter.

The top of the bloom should have a little hat like structure on top of it also it should have two little arms that drop nectar into the bucket those are both missing

Still, quite the interesting flower! My 'how can you tell' was kind of a joke being it is so different of a bloom.

Oh I see. Yes it is an interesting bloom. I hope the other ones (spikes) are perfect though.

    I do too.

I'd love to see the correct form of the bloom!
