    Default Masdevallia (chaparensis x veitchiana)

I purchased this one as a plant division a few months ago and it gave me a bud! One and the only bud which I am crazy about. I hope not to loose it as temperature here went up and I have no time to think about some cooling system for my Masdies. I wonder how much of Masd. Veitchiana is in this cross as the bud is very spotty. Not much I guess

Wow. A nice healthy looking plant you have. Great care you did! Keep it up.
Its a very unusual orchid. And some variety has patterns of monkey or dracula.

And im having a hard time looking for it locally, i hope i can find one when i visit HongKong.

    Im envious of you.

Very beautiful. I also have a hybrid of veitchiana, but i've no idea what the other parent is. The blooms are smaller than yours and aren't spotted, they are just plain orange. In fact, one of the blooms was pollinated when I bought it and now I have a seedpod growing. When it's mature I'll send it to a girl I know who's does in-vitro sowing. It's the wilted bloom on the left of the picture.

My flower is actually pretty small. It only looks big on the pictures. Your Masdevallia is lovely and it looks similar to my Masd. Casa Anakar.
