    This plant is endemic to the Philipines and surrounding countries.

    I got home last night to a huge fat caterpillar chumping away at the last of one whole spike. This is the remaining spike.

    Egads! If ever found anything chomping on my 'chids, I'd blast it to bits with my trusty shotgun. After carefully removing from said 'chids.

    Hmm...haven't tried that with the scale yet...
