    Default Mormolyca ringens

    Yes, that really is it's name...

    I don't know much about this plant and I've only had it about seven or eight months... I just stuck it with the rest of my orchids and lo and behold it has six flowers, two open at the moment and the others at varying stages of spike...



    it's a wee little plant... the flower is only just over a centimeter wide and two high.. but such a cutie... again no smell... I kinda imagine something like this would have a carrion like smell though so prolly best it doesn't have a fragrance!

    Wow - it's frowing at us, big time!

    It's an epiphyte native to Central America, found growing at sea level up to 1,400 meters, Tim-O. It's norhtern blooming months are pretty much year around except Jul/Aug. It likes high, indirect sun and int.-hot temps.

    Hope that helps - it's all my database had to say.

    this is actually the next set of flowers... three others have come and gone.. the first pic of this series is the first flower... then two others and now... voila... I just love the way they look like they are jumpin jacks!
