    Default Phaius Microburst 'Octoberfest'

Great scent! I would have waited until all the blooms were open, but the lower ones are beginning to fade, so I didn't think I had much time left. This one is still young, but is already pretty big; for size comparison, it's in a 10 inch pot. Grows in terrestrial or cymbidium mix. Never let it dry out completely.

Hi Yug very nicely bloomed congratulations. Could you share your culture? I have had this one for 2 years now, all it seems to be doing is making dozens and dozens of juvenile new growths that don't seem to mature, the pot is full with small 15-20 cm growths.

Cuture? Well part Cymbidium mix, part potting soil, toss in some composted steer manure, a few 2in or less chunks of treefern. Don't re-pot when growing/blooming. Light shade with no full sun. Never let dry out. Less dampness late fall to mid winter. Pretty easy.

My first one is about to bloom - one flower spike - will send pics so that perhaps someone could ID for me - only one spike as I split it off from a friend's plant last year......
