Mine is in bloom too but the blooms have brownish color, not purple as yours. I wonder why? I also have another Phaius plant and the blooms' color is very similar to yours but it is not this species. I will check the name of that plant later to tell you.
These Phaius blooms have amazing fragrance. The scent is so pleasant that you just want to sniff and sniff and sniff ...Certain other orchid fragrance gives you a headache (like my many australian dendrobiums in bloom right now), but this one, you just can't get enough. What do you think about my observation, Gin?
    Cheers. Hoa.

Gorgeous blooms, Gin! You're making me want to try one again...but I'd have to find one with color and not the brown like we see here. Great growing and detective work!

    Hi,

I believe this is no longer tankervilliae, it may be a hybrid or another species.

    Hi Gin,

I don't know the species, but Lisa at the Dartmouth greenhouse has an alba in the collection. I bet she you give you an ID. I'll try and vector her to this post.
