    Cool Thrixsperrnum leucarachne

    This little flower is sneaky. The bud appears suddenly and within a few days becomes quite long and thin. The flower opens quickly and for one or two (if you are lucky) days it remains hanging wide open looking like a large white spider in mid-flight. The tiny spotted red "body" has a tiny opening that has hair like fibers inside. It is a wonderful plant that blooms one amazing flower after another on a spike much like that of a species Phalaenopsis. I hope the second spike will begin to flower as well soon...

    I have it sitting behind some tall vandas, in pretty high light levels and so far it seems to like it. It is getting watered and fertilized with the vandas as well.
