    Default Catasetum expansum

first time bloom for this division, but it just couldn't make up its mind whether to grow a bulb or a spike which results in development of a half spike-half bulb thingy. not uncommon for catasetums.

yes, lightly mint scented. in my experience, pileatum only produces spike once the plant is fully established, perhaps due to higher requirement of nutrient for the large flowers. good luck and hoping to see the graceful peleatum from you soon

    Cool flower!

3 of my mini-catasetum hybrids are spiking. One is getting to be a decent sized spike, the other 2 are smaller so far. Waiting on the others to spike now too.
