Flowers are about 2 inches in size. The name brachyptera apparently refers to the two wings on the lip. Bought as a bb prop' a year ago - I completed the leading bulb which I guess is getting back to the proper size. I will have to repot when the flowers are over as the new growth , and a potential second one, are hard against the pot rim. That will be the moment of truth, since it is growing well in what looks like rubbish - and it may not like my new clean hygienic compost ! Orchids can be awkward b*****s at times.
