    Smile Catasetum Lovena

A different Catasetum Lovena hybrid from Geoff's. Mine is a Fred Clarke hybrid. I recently acquired this one so I am not responsible for the spikes on this one.

I like this one a bit more than the one I posted last week. More vibrant color. And I have discovered their perfume which seems to be on the early side of the day/morning. Citrus scent.

This arrived with 6 healthy pbs (2 in active growth) and 1 bad bulb. I have decided to break it into 2 or 3 divisions in the spring. Already have takers lined up for them.

An amazing difference between two versions of the same hybrid. I would find it hard to choose between the two ! Maybe go for yours simply because that vibrant lip shows up so well.

Like this one too. Mine from the same source as yours but yet another color variation with spotting across the yellow lip.

I'd recommend at least two bulbs with any division but a single bulb will usually work.

I discovered a new spike on this Catasetum. So after being finished with the first set of spikes (one on each new pb grown this season), one of the new pb's threw a 2nd spike.
