    I was doing some reading on how these bucket orchids get pollinated. That is as fascinating and almost unbelievable as the flower itself.

    Nina I also have the macrantha and only one Stanhopea, I now have a wish list for 11 of the Stanhopeas. I don't think you can ever have too many of either of this species.

    Karin, that is the truth it was a joy to watch with my other Coryanthes that bloomed for me in April.

    Bizarre blooms I have yet to get myself one of these but they are not easy to come by here, I suppose the flowers dont last too long?

    Parry, they are not easy to get here either and most of them come from South America, you would think more of them would be available. I am not sure about this one but my macrantha lasted about 5 days.
