    Default My first year with pleione orchids

    After 2 years of trying this is the first year a got it right with my pleione orchids.
    Here is Pleione Tongariro in bloom. I grew them in my green house so they are blooming earlier than grown outside.

    The Pleione formosana I malnourished by mistake so I will be getting just 2 flowers on 7 pesudobulbs, but at least I am on a good learning curve

    I love the look of pleione's, but they are so expensive I haven't tried them.

    Thanks for the praise.
    I bought them from Holland in bulk with other bulbs so they were nor expensive, and they do multiple well, so eventually I will even trade or sell some of them.

    In the US I was only able to find them for $15 per tiny bulb not counting shipping. They seem to be more common in Europe.

    Well orchids in general seem to be cheaper in Europe.
