Default orchid show -- Livonia, MI pt 1

Well ya'll can start breathing a 'sigh of relief' ;-D -- this will likely be the last show I make it to until fall, unless I happen to make it upstate at the end of May.

    Here's a odd flowering bulbo

I thought this Max. flower rather interesting

I wish I could get my Stereochilus to do this! *sigh* Mine is just sort of "existing"

Well Bench, I have ta tell ya ... as time goes, I seem to find myself more and more attracted to the unusual and weird flowers. The pretty floofs are pretty but there are soooooooooo many look alikes now & so common, I think I'm simply finding the uniqueness of the species to be far more intriguing.

It's funny because I have gone through stages of really liking the big, brash flowers.. and then went towards the botanicals (being a member of a species society helped) and now, I like everything so my collection have some interesting tiny flowered plants and some big, in-your-face flowers... a case in point are two plants currently flowering, ie a big, Big, BIG Cattleya, which unfortunately is a NOID, and the little Stenoglottis longifolia...

I guess, they both have very different appeal.. and I certainly couldn't see myself parting with either one...

Well, Diane, I do have a couple mildly floofy catts but most of them that I've seen just grow waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to big for my limited growing space. Don't seem to be too many floofy mini's

Even the floofy minis grow large - I hear your pain, Pavel!
