    They can take a lot of sun, Jack. However, my place has many small trees and tall bushes where many of my orchids are attached. So sun and shade will be about 60-40. The spaths still get some 2 to 3 hours of strong, direct sunlight, usually around 9AM to 12 noon.

    Thank you Yew-Sung. Actually, I had nothing new to post for awhile because none of my orchids were in bloom these past many months. Then the very hot dry season came and the orchids, well most of them, really looked stressed by the 34 to 35 degrees Centigrade. Only the Spathoglottis and the Grammatophylum seemed to relish the heat.

    I have also stopped applying blooming fertilizer so as not to stress them more.
