    Default Maxillaria Sp.

I got this orchid in bud from a friend a week ago, and I was told that it is a coelogyne, however after it bloomed I made some research and I found out that it is in fact a Maxillaria, and most likely Max. porphyrostele, I would be glad if anyone who has some knowledge of the genus could confirm this.

Compared to IOSPE info, looks like that is the correct name. Pretty! What does is smell like?

Very beautiful and cultivated with care, I agree to a Maxillaria porphyrostele.

Thanks Harvey for confirming the species; it has a light sweet fragrance that reminds me a bit of cyclamens, but you really have to smell it closely...

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, as I said I got it in bud so I can't really take credit for growing it, but I hope it will be happy under my care and bloom again next season.
