Actually I would bring some BEER!!!
Nasty slugs are suckers for BEER in a bowl! The smellier the better !!!! Hehehheheehe!

And if I am too desparate to save the fast growing spike and the remaining gorgeous just-opened blooms, I hunt them down with a flashlight!!!

I too have one (traditional white color) that is in bloom right now. The fragrance is so nice. I saw some other Neos in pink or blue colors, do you know if those are also fragrant?

The other colors are fragrant, especially the pink. The blue has a lighter fragrance. There are so many hybrids now. I have seen and sniffed about a dozen differnt ones during my trips to japan. Heavenly - to bad I can't bring a few back with me...

Neo in Chinese is called Feng Lan (or Wind Orchid). I saw one Chinese website that sells very expensive Noe, and I don't have they if they are much differenc than those sold in the State. The cheap one (with 3 leads) sells for $100 plus, and the expensive one (with 7 leads) sells for $1000 more. I guess now only the real "noble" can afford these orchids.

Mine is just about done blooming. But I got this pretty and cheap Chinese pot in China Town this week, and feel like to show off.

WOW! I love how that looks! I'd love to try that out with my Neo but I'm too scared to re-pot and I am such an anti-sphag for growing person.... I'd keep it too wet!
