Default Clowenoches Rebecca Northern 'Jeff's Baby' CCE

I got this from a friend last spring in California. I did not realize that it was a late bloomer. I had taken it out of its pot and removed the media and dead roots and put in the area that I put this species for their winter rest. About a month later I noticed 5 spikes growing so I stuffed it into a net basket to allow it to bloom, 1 of the spikes did not survive and this is the outcome.

I am really enjoying this one! I had the first spike bloom on the 5th of this month and have enjoyed those blooms now the other 3 spikes have opened. You can see some of the older blooms in the 2nd and 4th photo.

The few hybrids I have seen with clowesia in them all seemed to lead to a comment like “ it is supposed to open more than this”. But quite a remarkable cross here . I wonder where the hairy lip comes from ?
( my Orchidwiz is not usable at the moment - I am having trouble with installing the latest update , and am trying removing the previous one first- that worked- but so far have still not managed to install v5. Marianne has made some suggestions, but they involve me sitting in front of the screen for long minutes waiting for a message... and I am not good at sitting still doing nothing. My mind wanders off, and then - hey, I missed it again.)

I had posted this on another forum and in one response I got was that it was not a Clowenoches but a Clowesia and that the award was not posted. I talked to the person who did the cross and he said it had won the award at last years show in Santa Barbara, CA and they proclaimed it to be a Clowenoches not Clowesia at the time. Have no idea where the hairy lip came from but am told that they should open just a little more then mine have, but his grows in a cooler environment then I have, his also has not even shown any spikes yet they normally show up the end of this month or the first of next month.
