    Default Aerides magnifica 'Opal Arch'

There has been some confusion over the names of Aer. magnifica, odorata & quinquevulnera in recent years till a Mr. Jim Cootes & another formally described this Aerides as a separate species. The pink form was the described form which left this one out & about. I bought this 2+ years ago as Aerides quinquevulnera fma Farmeri. Checking Google & websites, it has a number of different names. Finally managed to get Jim to ID this & another plant from an friend as Aer. magnifica so we both changed labels. The pink form I have & have posted here I think, is still quite a few weeks away from opening. Hopefully in time for a major show coming up.

Ok, haven't checked there for some tie. Can't say this is alba, has a distinct palest of pink flush thru the flowers. A plant posted elsewhere kicked off the naming saga apparently is Pure white. I'll stick with the opal, save argument coz it isn't pure white.
