    This is a primary hybrid between the well known R.monachica and the little-known R. vietnamense. Monachica is very dark red with spots, and vietnamense, according to the pic in IOSPE has particularly broad sepals, which are brick red rather than the dark blood colour of monachic, and particularly narrow petals, which are mostly plain yellow.
    So this hybrid is intermediate the two. A first flowering for me, after arriving from Korea in the Spring, and I am well pleased with the flower count on what is not yet a big plant. Now it needs to grow.....

    Wow! So pretty Geoff! I have a Renanthera (I think Kalsom?) I've had it 4 years - never a bloom I love the spots on yours!
