So kids, I finally did it, I got off of my duff and actually up-loaded some photos. They are not all orchids (well, Kristin could be one), but there are the Goodyera and my Brassia in bloom. Since I haven't quite caught up with the new digital age I am limited to first shooting on acetate and then using a flatbed scanner (this is what we had to work with when I was doing graphic design...digital backs for our cameras were wicked expensive.

I promise there will be more, it is just a matter of 20 minutes worth of scanning and then photo-shopping to do contrast correction.

Great pics!!! I will never touch a roll of film again I think. I have one moving box full of single pictures not labeled, out of order, and even from my parents - relative's kids..... gosh! I did about 40 scrapbook pages and it's not even a drop in the ocean. *sigh*
Well, back on topic.... are the Goodyera in bloom now? I've been begging the Other Half to take me to, um, that bog not too far from me, looking for orchids and other neat life...
Thanks for sharing pics :c)

Unfortunatly the Goodyera have gone by...but there is always next year. Most of the bog bloomers in the area I am aware of are late spring to early summer bloomers (like the beautiful 'Rose' Pogonia). Goodyera aren't bog plants, they require similar conditions to Cyps from what I have seen...same kind of media (mixed conifer and Oak and Beech matter) but the pH may be different. Kinda wish I had shot them in colour, the veination is gorgous.

The Goodyera is really a beautiful plant, isn't it? But I also enjoyed seeing you and your wife. You sure work hard to get pictures to us--you owe yourself a digital cam!

It's great to see black and white! It's such a wonderful medium and so rarely used anymore. It takes a good eye to compose nice b&w shots. You have to look past the color and look for contrast. It's fun.

Nice pics, especially of you and Kristin! Aaron is cuter in person!
