Default Catasetum Bound for Glory

Well, I don't think this one's bound for glory. Colour isn't stunning, form is ok, could be more floriferous. But it smells fantastic!

The primary odor is of bubble-gum, but a close second in strength is caraway. More subtle is the spearmint scent, and quite subtle beneath the others is a fake-banana-flavour scent.

I tried to take pics to give a sense of the overall shape of the bloom.

Catasetum Bound for Glory = (pileatum x Orchidglade)
Orchidglade = (pileatum x expansum)

It does have a nice form! If you want to toss it, just address it to me....hehehe. I could make room for that color especially if it smells like banana. Seriously, it is really a nice bloom!

Cheers!

Nice one, Sue! You can certainly see both species' influence!

Are these the male of female flowers?

Lovely pastel colors. And all those scents too.

Remarkable flowers! I had heard of them but not familiar with how they looked. I love the subtle, sophisticated colors and the shape of the blossom is so sculptural. Very elegant!

You have an amazing sense of smell to pick out all those "flavors" and their undertones! I'm hopeless when it comes to describing fragrances: I like it or I don't like it; it's fruity or musky or spicy. Not much more than that. I'll bet you're one of those guys who can describe the bouquet of a wine imaginatively too!
