The first spikes' blooming, which is pictured here, did slow down the final spike which bloomed in Dec, so it was wonderful stretching the blooms out for so long!
I like both species, Ron. Don't forget this is a clone of an FCC awarded plant. That makes any species look better, LOL!
Thank you, Fren and Todd! I bought the plant last summer, so I can't take credit for it's excellent health, but it's very easy to grow.
Hi: lovely plant. I have the same plant bought 3 years ago at a farmers market with no labels in Los Angeles (I later identified it as a Coelogyne mooreana). I grow the plant well vegetatively, lots of leaves, plump bulbs etc, but no flower! Summer temps day up to 90F nights around 65F. Winter can drop down to 50F here in LA.
Summer shade. Winter full sun. I've been trying the winter rest like a Den. nobile. Can't get the damn thing to flower. It must have about 10 bulbs on it now. Please enlighten me. Thanks much.
I love it!!!!
Julie, just wanted to let you know that you are an enabler I ended getting a division of this clone last month to add to my collection...
Got to have one of those!
Oh it's such a wonderful bloom. It can't help but steal attention! And a healthy plant throws out fistfulls of large flowers.
Snbrdlad, it sounds like your plant is not getting something it wants. The sun sounds like plenty. I'd guess either trace elements are missing (do you fertilize, and is so, with what?)
Ron, I live to enable! Want to buy my book as a Christmas present for your 300 friends???
Lovely Julie. Congrats!
