Got this in trade as a back-bulb from a friend last February when it was dormant...First blooming for me. Scent is like cherry-flavored Ben-Gay. Very strange. Or Maybe Lueden's Menthol Cherry flavored cough drops? The other half thinks these look more like wasps than swans

Very nice. Seems to have a bit of an orange tint to the blooms - or is that just the photo?

So this is what I have to look forward to!!! Mine is just at the pregnant bulge stage of spiking. I bought mine from __________________ who promised me its scent was like a Cherry Nehi Soda. It's the first awarded plant I've ever bought. For $40 I hope it doesn't remind me of cherry soda swilling jocks!

The orange tint is merely the photo. The burgundy is actually quite saturated and deep.

Mark, you'll enjoy this one, I promise! (I wouldn't say Cherry Nehi soda...but Cherry Nehi soda with a starlight mint dropped in it.)

The flowers look very thick (I know I could have used something more poetic, but I'm not clever that way....) I guess they must last a long time?

    Beautiful colouration!

I think "thick" translates as "heavy substance" when talking about orchids. Yes, the flowers are very thick...so far they've been open about a week.

I'll make sure and update this post after the flowers fall to tell you how long they last
