    Default Schoenorchis paniculata

Just found Schoenorchis paniculata blooming today, and it is almost finished . I can't get a picture of the flowers, as they are smaller than .5mm (smaller than half a millimeter!), but they are not showy, just interesting. Unfortunately, my other species of Schoenorchis also bloomed and got past me

This one has another spike coming along though...
(Sorry for the bad pic, it's hard to get a picture of it)

nice mount there and cool looking leaves!

I've gotta get a couple mounts of miniatures of unfamilar (unfamiliar to me) orchids this coming orchid show. Last years show I remember they were selling a rack full of them

Is it a Floridian native, Pat? What's its story?

Geez! Without your say so Pat, I would never recognize this little fella as an orchid. I can't believe how much variety orchids have.

This is a native of Borneo in Indonesia. This species is quite uncommon in collections, but I can see why Schoenorchis is a very variable genus, with plants more familiar like Schoenorchis fragrans (shorter and not rambling), and species like Schoenorchis macrantha which look similar to a seedling of Trichoglottis... just by looking at flowers alone, it would be difficult to tell if it was an orchid without the aid of a microscope.
