    Default Bulbo maximum (oxypterum)

    Being we were discussing Bulbos with a rhachis, I thought I would post another example. I think the Megaclinium Group of Bulbos are pretty cool! They are all from Africa. I am trying to add more from this group to my collection. The rhachis on this one is about a foot and 1/2 tall. The flowers bloom sequentially along the rhachis. I think the buds look like little woodpeckers.
    Here is a plant shot followed by the buds and the flowers.

    Ohhhh, that is weird and cool! I see the little woodpeckers too. Thanks for sharing this one.
