Nice 'un, Cin! An a git-togither with Tami...ooh, my! That's surely trouble!

My Max will be finding it's way to the porch come warmer weather. I've found better luck with more consistent conditions (which I can do inside in the summer), but yours is simply too big and beautiful. I'll play a lot of Jimmy Buffet, and hope it thinks it's in Florida!

We are going to have a serious good cooking time. I am sure that a little beer will be consumed as well. The DH are doing the cooking on the Big Green Egg and we will do the sides. It won't be a heart healthy 2 days.

Sometimes, as I believe I'll be experiencing in Southern CA, a non-heart-healthy few days isn't a bad thing...

    hehehe...

But we will have a lovely Cab with dinner to counteract with all of the fats.

And a good time was had by all! We cooked, ate, orchid shopped, picked up shark's teeth on the beautiful beach, visited Historic Spanish Point, and ate some more. The blue margaritas were wonderful. Cin and Terry even introduced us to our first scrub jay!

Bubba, Miss Maude, and the Rat were perfect hosts, too, even allowing us intruders to pet and play with them.
Wandering around the yard is like a visit to a tropical wonderland. Beautiful native plants and trees, most full of fragrant blooms, and orchids EVERYWHERE!
As I mentioned earlier, Cin had given us a maxillaria when we visited in Nov. 06. We we got home little max was sending up new shoots like crazy! 10 so far. To top it off, she bloomed this morning! Only one bloom but we are proud of her. Thanks, Cin.

The Scrub Jays are so beautiful! Much more demure than the run-of-the-mill Blue Jays that frequent my porch.

Hey, I need a buddy to come and visit me now!

    '

Scrub Jays demure????? What, are your's on valium?? The ones in Cal. are the most obnoxious, raucous and bossy things on wings outside of crows! I love the 'real' jays, the Stellar Jays with the topnot. Shy, beautiful and usually found in the mountains...

I'd love to visit - when the weather is cooler - but my next two business trips are to places outside the US. Maybe next year.............

Heeheehee. This little guy was very curious and hopped right up to me. He must have been full as he wouldn't eat the peanuts we had for him. Cin says they will eat out of your hand. He was so pretty!
