jrod I put all my orchids outside for the summer. I did this last year and they all did so well. We've had a particulary hot spell the last several days so I go out and spray them three times a day. Usually once or twice will do. In the winter the encyclia is under lights and I don't do any thing special for humidity except mist them once a day. The encyclia is mounted on a small log and the log is covered with moss. I make sure the the moss is misted too when I mist the plant. I think that adds to the humidity. This winter I am enclosing the light self with a clear shower curtain and adding a cool mist humidifier as well as a couple of fans. I am getting more picky orchids so I will have to do a little more. Maybe if you add a little more air circulation or maybe let dry out a little more. Mine tends to be quite dry on top before I water. Hope this helps.
