    or maybe its an Eria.

The flowers are fragrant but only in the early hours of the morning. Small, around 3/4 of an inch from top to bottom.

The whole plant after mounting and before the buds open.

Love the new avatar! Looks like a prehistoric orchid/pterodactyl.

A good puzzle, Tanya! I'm not expert in either genus, but do have a couple species of each.

Coelogyne wouldn't be my first guess. There doesn't seem to be enough variation in the species to account for your flower. And Eria is possible, but again, I'm not sold on the flower form. It could be a lesser known genus and there are certainly plenty of those in the Orchid family!

Try PM'ing Nelson - he certainly knows the species native to the Philippines, and there's often crossover with other Asian orchids.
