    Default My only Maxillaria hybrid

I didn't realize I was purchasing a hybrid when I did but didn't have my glasses on me.

This is pulla x striata...actually, I like it.

Leave those glasses home in the future! That is a stunning color and a great looking specimen even if it is a hybrid. By the way...whats wrong with the hybrids?

Not that there is something wrong with hybrids but I have been trying to focus in my collecting. With Maxillarias I usually only collect species.

Ah, I see. I'm not too picky, my shopping style for orchids is I'm looking for a nice dendrobium....find a pretty one well grown with healthy roots.....buy it.

That was my shopping style at one point.
I now try to stay focused. Paph roth primaries and Paph multiflorals along with a selection of paph species. Bulbo species, Bl Richard Mueller crosses, a few classic Catt crosses, nodosa crosses. Bl Morning Glory crosses. Well I guess I am not totally focused with Catts, LOL. With Dends, I also like species but there are a few hybrids in my collection as well. Coelogyne species. Chinese Cymbidium species.
One of my newest focuses are Paph crosses made with besseae flavum and of course Phrag kovachii crosses. I also have a handful of Phal species. I think my most recent estimate gave me close to 450 orchids in my collection.
