Gastrochilus japonicus

You might [or might not] remember this pic which I posted a while ago of the spikes ... they reminded me of duck feet



Ever so slowly the buds formed and swelled





Until now as we have reached the point of some open blossums







They seem to have a very faint sweet fragrance.

What other 2 do you have, Gin? I had a G. somai some years back but lost it. [I think a big part of the problem is that I got it as a mounted plant and, at that time I didn't have a terr for it. Believe it was just too dry. This G. japonicus is growing in a pot in my terr.] Unfortunately I haven't really seen somai around.

Oh, & I guess I should have added ... for those who are unfamiliar with this plant and my leanings ... it is a mini. Plant is in a 2" pot, has a span of 3-4" from tip to tip, and the flowers are about 0.5" tall.
