    Default Galeandra baueri

Galeandra is a South American Cymbidium relative. I just now read that it wants shady conditions. This one has been in 3/4 full sun all summer. Oh well, I guess it looks ok to me anyway.

If you look at the one on the right you can kinda see that the flowers are basically just one huge rolled-up spurred lip. The other petals and sepals form only a little corona at the top. Pretty strange for an orchid bloom.
