    Default Epidendrum ciliare

I love the shape of the blooms. It's hard to tell cause my picture is so poor, but the overall impression is a bird in flight. And the most delicious fragrance of any orchid I have ever had the pleasure to smell. I wish I could bottle it. Many more buds are encased in the sheath.

I bet it is delightful to smell. How many buds in the sheath typically?

    Cheers,

About 15. One opens about a week before the last one dies, lasts about 3 weeks each.

Very nice! I love the frilliness of the lip...

I have one but it refuses to flower for me... and I have no idea why

Did I give you that one, Diane? Can't remeber, but I did place mine in a trusted home...

    No, not yours Julie

I will try to get a close up - I'm notoriously bad at taking them. The flowers are not too large. But i'll try tomorrow.
