    Default Lycaste Takagamine

This Lycaste was destined for the dumpster at my local garden center because somebody thought it was dead...and when I brought it home, I thought it was dead. But as you can see it is anything but DEAD! This is the 2nd year it has boomed for me and new PS are gowing.

Fantastic save and good job getting it back to flowering.

Beautiful colour and funny peek-a-boo shape.

Many Lycaste species are deciduous, Biker, and they look like they've given up on life when they hit the fall. But it's simply what they do. Some are semi-deciduous and likewise look like they're ailing when it's fall and time to lose those excess leaves...gosh, I wish I could shed seasonal pounds that easily. I only seem to gain them!

You'd need to trace the species influence in your hybrid to know exactly what culture it wants, but there are some good online Lycaste sources (I've read them, but they don't come quickly to mind) that provide good culture tips based on the species influence your plant has.

It's a lovely flower, and a wonderful genus to get to know. Good luck with what seems to be a happy plant!

    You have done very well

They do have a very bad habit of getting damaged due to their very succulent
    nature.

Once again you have done very well
