    Default Maxillaria elegans

    A cooler growing Columbian species. It is lightly fragrant. The flower is about 3" x 2"

    Sweet looking flower. The petals remind me of the flying nun's habit and if you look real close at the column inside you can see two little eyes and a nose. Or is it just me?

    I love this species. I found 2 more spikes developing too! The fragrance has been developing as the flower has matured.
