That RH should be fine as long as you keep it watered.

    Good luck.

I know the feeling! I got a bulbo yesterday and was told to never let it get dry. It is mounted!! I asked the vendor and he said to set the mount inside a clay pot and put sphag up to the bottom of the bulbo so that the roots from the mount could grow down into the sphag if they want too. It should also help keep the mount from drying completely out. I decided to give it a try but since I don't usually like to grow anything in pure sphag, I used a fine bark mix with perlite and charcoal and some coir. It should do the same thing and not let the plant get soppy wet for extended periods of time.

    Cheers,
    BD

Oh my gosh i've long wanted to have a nice cochleata but too bad I'm all the way living here halfway around the globe from where you are.

I rarely see this in orchid shops nowadays and local collectors who might have the plant aren't selling theirs either unless they decide to divide their mother plant.

WOW, That is amazing, Byron...I keep the humidity at about 60% and the orchids do just fine. If your humidity is that high, maybe you could grow a cochleata. It grows so fast for me, that I now have several...Betty :-)
