Smile My Orchid Window

I just thought I would share where I grow my orchids. It is a half moon window I purchased at a thrift store ($15). I just mounted it and put up some grow lights. Question: Do you think I have enough light? The lights themselves are 15 watts each.

Nice. Maybe enough light for paphs and phals, but the dends and catts will need much more. Maybe add some more lights directly over them...I'm not sure how effective side lighting is...

Good job!

Would the extra light hurt the paphs and phals? I have been worried about the light from the side. I will add some more light directly overhead. Thanks for you help.

I doubt the paphs and phals would yellow under artificial lighting. They might even bloom bigger than usual!

I would definitely add some overhead lighting.

Yes, add more light. It will help them. Nice arrangement!

Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Cool arrangement.
I think the lights should be above the plants than on its side to be more effective.

Thanks for all the help. Here is the added light. I believe it is a total of 60 watts.
