Arrow Hi from Australia

Shannara

Your plants are so h-e-a-l-t-h-y! What's YOUR secret. Mine grow out-of-doors and face (fight?) the elements under trees et cetera.
Sincere congratulations Max

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Oh boy! lol. I would say mostly its just giving them the right amount of water, fertilizer, and light. All of which you learn with trial and error. I always say its best to err on the side of dry...overwatering is so much harder to fix IMO.

That spot gets very intense indirect light and plenty of air movement. I live in an area with higher humidity and that plays its part also. I have never had much success growing orchids indoors...my house is just too dark and I don't have enough room. I wish I had more room on that east railing as it seems to be the most desirable spot with its morning sunlight. I recently started fertilizing my orchids via a hand mister. They seem to have really taken to it as new growth is popping out everywhere...even on plants that appeared at a stand still since last year.

The summer is always a challenge because of watering needs, but I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to keep up this year.

BTW welcome to the forum Max!

Edit: (Didn't see this post)

It's an Encyclia kennedyi in the avatar. It did take a bit to photograph, edit, and upload the pics, but its very fun to do!

So glad you liked those Becky. Photography is another one of my interests so anytime I can take pics it's great practice.

I wish I had a greenhouse but I have tried to utilize my porch space. My next step would be a large screen porch and then hopefully a greenhouse someday. I live in the SE of the U.S. so its very warm and humid here. Not really looking forward to the summer temps...lol.

Looks wonderful! Clearly the plants love it! All in all, I'd say an ingenious use of space.

Isn't this a catasetum nestled in here?
