Default Manhattan Rooftop

As requested, here are some photos of my roofgarden and green houses!

Walking out of my apartment, on the left is my herb garden:

Straight ahead is the eating and sitting area:

Here's a shot of part of the eating and sitting area, along with a view of the Hudson River and New Jersey:

The side of the terrace is where the first greenhouse is located, as well as an outdoor orchid growing area for spring/summer/fall:

Across from the first greenhouse is my vegetable garden. Mostly Heirloom tomatoes, cucumber and peppers:

Going further is the second greenhouse (this is actually the first one I built, which proved to be MUCH too small!) (It's a little bit ugly!!!!):

This is fantastic, what a luxury to have a gigantic rooftop like that in the city and you have arranged it very well, it is so inviting! Thanks for posting the pictures.

That is wonderful! Everything looks very well cared for and healthy. Nice job! It must be so nice to come home and spend time in your garden.

Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Wow! All that on a single rooftop in a big city? The container vegetable garden looks intrigueing to me. And a lot better kept than my back-yard veggie patch. Do you get weed seed blown up into your space?

Yup, I do get weed seeds blown up, but I de-weed as soon as I see them.

Ironically, one of the biggest "weed" problems I've had is from my herbs! In the fall they all produce seed and the seeds get blown all over the terrace. Come spring I'm constantly pulling herb seedlings out of all the planters!
