This is still a very natural looking set-up, Tanya. While it would never work for me, I like the look of what you've done. Excellent!

    Cheers,

So, when you mount them it takes two years for them to bloom?? That explains alot!! Okay then...just another year or so to go with some of mine. Maybe my Tokyo Magic will get the memo....it's been hanging around for almost the full 2 years already!

p.s. your dendrobium tree is too cool for words! Great job and thanx for the idea....

Cj, I said two years because of the conditions of the Catts when I mounted them. The old pbs were so dried up that the new growths were like seedling size.

Here is my oldest Catt/Dendrobium tree. This is around 4 years old and the tree has started to break down. I guess a couple more years before the old thing will finally crumble.

The Epc El Hatillo was a blooming size clump and in good condition when mounted so it only took a few weeks for the plant to re-stablish itself, same thing goes with the Dendrobium. The timing also played an important role, mounting was done in the month of April instead of September.

It was a mistake for me to put the tree upright, wasted half of the tree, the plant at the bottom languished due to poor light. Now you know why the other orchid trees are in reclining position.

I've moved the tree and removed the shade cloth behind it to let more sunlight in.

Here is the El Hatillo in full bloom last spring.

Thank you all for the kind comments, I'm glad you like my trees
