    Hey Kenneth,

I still need the fungicide but not as often .... Having a polycarbonate roof is still not a 100% guarantee that my plants won't get any rot. It could in fact even make the plants more susceptible to it because now my grow area is closed and free air-flow is inhibited sometimes. That's the reason why I had an all-weather ceiling fan installed. The roof also adds more work for me because I have to regularly clean it with a long mop or stick broom to remove undesirable algae growing on its surface. Algae reduces the amount of light coming in and may contribute to weak, spindly vegetative growth - making the plant more susceptible to disease. During summertime, polycarbonate roofing gets hot and can burn your plants specially those plant parts that have grown nearer to it. I guess a net is better .... it just so happened that the original intent for placing the polycarbonate roof was to prevent people from getting wet during the rainy season. That time, I had recently moved in to my townhouse unit and there were hardly any plants around until I felt that the look of the townhouse lookedand felt so "dry" and "unrelaxing" being surrounded by all that concrete every time I arrived home from the office. It never entered my mind that I would revive my old orchid growing hobby until the day I went to visit the garden to buy a potted jasmine plant for my sister that she requested me to buy for her. There were so many orchids in full bloom that had newly arrived in the store that I went into. That triggered some of my old memories and started my orchid addiction all over again! Oh well ..... it's hard being an orchid nut!

    Cheers!
